With some fun Log Cabin Patchwork Pillows and festive Table Runners under our sewing belts, we couldn't wait to get started on our next Sew Along here at Hawthorne Threads! This month we sewed some simple stockings, with our machine humming along to the jingling bells of holly jolly Christmas Music.
We used this great tutorial from Diary of a Quilter. Simple or decorated with trimmings of ric rac and applique, I love the variety one can achieve from such a simple design.
from Abbey, Kathy, Alyssa, and Becky
from Tom, Alice, and Tara
from Peter and Cheyenne, and Alyssa had so much fun she whipped up two more!
and his and hers stockings from Charlie and Lindsay!
And here they are, all hung with care, in hopes that Saint Nicholas soon will be there! Wishing you all a Happy Christmas, and a very Merry New Year!

These are beautiful! Well done! I so enjoy seeing all your staff sewing projects. :)

These are nice stockings. I think I've made similar items before but that was years ago. We don't really hang stockings in my part of the world so that would only be for a special event- such as a play. Sometimes people give corporate gifts in stockings though- for example if a church is giving gifts to a children's home.
I like the one with the birds on it the best. I think the birds are done with applique. It should be a fun project to do at school or with the kids at home, if they are young enough to still enjoy those things.
