When I stumbled upon this photo of John Lennon behind a sewing machine, I knew I had my inspiration for our next Hawthorne Threads home page gallery picks! Ladies and gents, "let me take you down cause we're going to, Strawberry Fields..."
Whether it's in verse, song, or ink, I'm always amazed how artists can convey feeling and mood. Writing about collections that arrive on our doorstep each week, I'm often struck by how similar various forms of expression really are. This marriage of Heather Ross's Briar Rose and Dear Stella's Clementine certainly fills my head with Lennon's wistful voice. Of course, the Groovy Guitar and Music Note prints were just too perfect to pass up.
And just for fun, I've found a bit of a throwback for you. Here I am at 18 visiting the Strawberry Fields Memorial to John Lennon in Central Park, NYC. Charlie actually took the picture of me - too bad I don't have one with us both. Oh well, as John sings - "nothing to get hung about!"
