Lindsay's Picks - Yellow and Gray

 
I stumbled upon this beautiful image of gingko leaves and remembered how much I love that tree. Not only does its leaves turn a beautiful yellow in the fall, but its also a living fossil, dating back to 270 million years ago. (I know, that's the geologist in me coming through again!) Since we don't have any in our yard I figured the next best thing would be this new home page gallery for our shop. I selected fabrics from Madrona Road, Simpatico, Midwest Modern, and Palladium. I think this yellow and gray palette is almost as timeless as the gingko tree itself!

A Palette for the Season

I was inspired to update my picks for the season when Peter brought us in this lovely fall treat. Normally you can find him picking the fabrics for your orders, but this time Peter has picked this perfect pumpkin from his garden to remind us of the change of seasons. Perhaps next time he'll pick us a peck of pickled peppers?

'Shore Was a Great Summer!

With the holiday weekend behind us, we face the unoffical end of the season here States-side. If I could capture the feeling of our family's summer vacation in fabric it would be this latest gallery featured on our shop's home page. Coastal flowers, pebbles, sailboats, sea urchins, madras patchwork and "lobstah's" remind me of our sandy trips to the Jersey Shore, Cape Cod Mass, and finally up to Bar Harbor Maine.

Now let's wash away all the sand beneath our toes and dive headlong into fall! I'm already excited about the colorful collage an autumn here in New York will inspire. Happy trails and happy sewing all!

Here's to a little Red, White, and Blue

I hunted high and low for my latest picks! In the spirit of the 4th of July holiday here in the States, I built my palette from the red, white, and blue colored Kasbah design from Amy Butler's Lark collection.

The other designs are from the Flea Market Fancy, Maya, Chevron, Anchors Away, and Songbird collections.
