Anyone looking for a fun Halloween costume that your kids will love to wear after all the candy has been gobbled and the last leaf has fallen? Ellen over at The Long Thread has offered up a quick and simple superhero cape tutorial.
The tutorial was very straightforward, with clear illustrations and great photos. My kids helped select their fabric, and we wound up going with various prints from Riley Blake's All Star lines 1 and 2, and Anne Kelle's Remix.
While Ellen offers a fun assortment of templates for appliques, I had to do some letter shields a la superman style for my "A Team"! I just printed out some free clip art for the letter A, and hand drew the shield so it would pop off the cape.
Here they are, Aidan and Annie the "A-Team"!
Faster than a bolt of lightning!
She just might catch him one day...
For anyone on the lookout for a quick and easy handmade costume, I highly recommend taking a look at this tutorial from The Long Thread. I hope everyone has a super Halloween!
