It's as if Dear Stella has read my mind with her new Masaai Mara Collection, due out by the end of this month. The collection features elements both ethnic and modern in design, brought to life by a beautiful palette of soft pewter gray and charcoal mixed with antiqued yellow and mustard. That just so happens to be the exact color story I've selected as we rennovate the space above our garage. My family likes to linger as far as house guests go so it'll be nice this little apartment fixed up for extended stays.
I knew I was onto something when I saw this color at the local paint store in town. Among the hundreds of colors my eyes landed on this buttery drop of sunshine. How could I not choose Hawthorne Yellow?!
Now that my Dad has finished up with the painitng, and sufficiently earned his right to stay up there any time he likes, I've moved on dreaming up the decor.
Largely coming from West Elm, Home Decorators, and Anthropologie, I think the pieces paired with the Masaai Mara fabric will create a space that is modern yet very sunny and welcoming, hinting ever so slightly to the quiet woods that surround our house here in Upstate New York. Needless to say, I can't wait till this beautiful fabric collection arrives. If you're like me and already cooking up projects using the designs, sign up in our Coming Soon section to be receive notice as soon as it arrives at the shop. And stay tuned for updates on the rennovation!
