New holiday pajamas have almost become as ubiquitous as festive quilts during the winter season. I know many a Christmas card will feature new pj's for the whole family, and my kids are happy to continue that tradition! These two sprouts have outgrown last year's Fair Isle sets, but I loved the pajama pants and nightgown so much we used the same patterns. When I designed our Winter Fawn line I actually thought out some of the patterns according to how they'd look as sleepwear, so I wasted no time getting started.
For my son, now ten, I went with the distinguished Buffalo Plaid in Marine as it's more fitting for a little guy who is astoundingly now double digits. To give him a nice rustic look, and to up my chances of him wearing the pajamas, I decided on the more manly Birches in Stone from our original Fawn collection. My daughter would happily wear any of the patterns but really loved the border design encircling the bottom of her nightdress last year so we went with the lovely Boreal Border for a similar look.
These his and hers pajamas came out great, and have already been put to use! These kids will be counting down to Christmas is style, which is one month from today in fact!
I love the contrast cuffs and rear on Aidan's pants, a style that can be fun for any age.
I love the subtle silvery snowflakes that fall down Annie's nightgown and they really have me looking forward to winter eves to come. I can almost feel the fire warm my cheeks as the snow falls on a cool and crisp night.
Though I have to say her favorite part hands down is the pom pom fringe, and I can't say I blame her. Too fun to resist!
We always pin all of the projects we make with our fabrics to their respective Pinterest Pages, so if you head over here you'll find other fun ideas as well as the pajama pants and nightgown patterns. We have the All Set Lounge Pants Pattern from Anna Maria Horner available in our shop. And see here for the simple Nightgown Tutorial from Love Lishie.
These pieces sew up really quickly so there's plenty of time to make some for the whole family, or for anyone on your gift list this year!
I'm seeing lots of options for coordinated family photos this season; now I just have to decide which fabrics to use for me and Charlie!
And if you're looking for more fabric and project ideas, here are last year's nightgown and pajama pants made with our Fair Isle fabric collection, another great choice for wintry sewing!
Happy Sewing this holiday season everyone! And if you make anything with our collections be sure to tag them with #WinterFawnFabric and #FairIsleFabric on social media so we can share with your fellow makers!
