Baskets and bunnies, and babies in bonnets, oh my! We seem to have "hopped" right over winter, and right on into spring here in Upstate New York. My daughter certainly missed sledding and building snow forts this winter, but I think the frolicking and Easter egg hunting in near 80 degree weather is softening the blow a bit. The girls are wearing our Cottontail fabrics, sewn up in the Hide and Seek Dress Pattern from Oliver + S, available in our shop in Toddler and Kids sizes.
For my daughter's dress I went with the March Hare fabric in the bodice, and Eyelet in Seafoam for the dress. The cuffs and pocket detail is Blossoming in Spring. I chose it so it would coordinate back with my niece's dress, but in hindsight, I think I could have gone with a simpler print, perhaps a coordinating small Buffalo plaid, or even using the Eyelet in Seafoam again.
My niece's dress shows off that pretty Blossoming in Spring for the dress, and the Cottontail Damask in Indigo for the bodice. Those little stuffed bunnies go together in a flash with this tutorial, and are a great Easter treat or newborn baby gift for all the spring chicks out there!

As the coming season celebrates and welcomes all things new, it's rather fitting to see my little girl look not so little anymore as she helps her little cousin explore, and enjoy the wonders of spring.
Of course when you're this small, the wonders are always at your fingertips...
and when you're one, everything is exciting!
I love that both girls show off the full repeat of those damask designs in each of their dresses. Baby Ava's is a little long but that just means she'll get lots of use out of it, now as a dress and later on as a tunic with a pair of leggings.
