I love that at first glance the pebble strewn mountains and canyons seem like a barren wasteland, void of any life or color to speak of. But a careful eye can spot the subtle colors reflected in the sands. Sparkling shades of pink, green, blue, green and gold change with each new angle of light the hour brings. And if you take the time to be still, the land comes alive with flora and fauna that manages to eek out an existence in this painted landscape.
